Herne Bay is a charming coastal town located in Kent, known for its beach and pier. Nestled on the northern coast, it offers families a pleasant day out with its beautiful coastline, traditional pier and also a variety of family-friendly attractions.

The pier, located in the central section of the beach, stretches out into the Thames Estuary. It offers stunning views of the horizon, and a bustling array of food stalls, amusements and small shops which sell local produce.

During summer weekends, the pier can get quite busy, with parents taking their young children there for a fun day out.

Near the start of the pier, there are also several arcade areas which have plenty of 2p machines, where you can easily spend an hour or so testing your luck and win some prizes!

A few minutes walk eastwards from the pier will bring to you the Clock Tower. This is one of the Herne Bay's most recognizable landmarks, and an enduring symbol of its Victorian heritage, built in 1837.

It offers a glimpse into the past, while remaining an integral part of the town's identity - making it a must see for anyone visiting Herne Bay.

Adjacent to the Clock Tower is the town's promenade, stretching along the coastline and offering spectacular views of the estuary.

Enjoy a relaxed walk here, soak in some fresh air, or even just do some dog-spotting whilst enjoying your ice cream on the beach.

Whilst you're in Kent, why not check out Capstone Farm Country Park as well?
